DESCRIPTION: This is a thick off-white 1950s pottery egg dish with a rooster design. It has 2 wells designed to hold soft boiled eggs in the shell and a much larger well probably meant for oatmeal. The bottom has an impressed mark that says CARDINAL CHINA. I believe it was made in the US. These dishes don't come up often on ebay and, when they do, they are often discolored by being warmed in the oven or stovetop. This one does not have that type of damage, but does have crazing. SIZE: The diameter of this bowl is about 6 1/8", and it is about 1 3/8" tall. BACKGROUND: I recently bought a part of a large egg cup collection and some other interesting pieces from the estate of a neighbor. I'll be continuing to list her things over the next several weeks.
